Oman’s Royal Oman Police eVisa service covers several routes, including unsponsored tourist visas, sponsored tourist visas and tourist visas for eligible GCC residents. Nationality, residence, profession and sponsor circumstances can change the available subtype.

How to apply, step by step
Run the eligibility wizard
Answer as the applicant using passport nationality and current residence details.
Create the ROP eVisa account
Use an accessible email address and enter names exactly as in the passport.
Choose the offered visa subtype
Do not copy a visa number or duration from another traveller with different circumstances.
Upload, review and pay
Provide passport/photo files, sponsor or GCC evidence if needed and save the application and receipt.
Track and download
Log in to find the application. If approved, generate the visa PDF sent through the official system.
Timing and fees
- ROP recommends applying at least four days in advance because processing varies, but travellers should leave a wider buffer where possible.
- Fees and available subtypes are shown after eligibility checks. Payment does not guarantee issuance.
Validity and stay conditions
- ROP’s FAQ distinguishes pre-entry validity by type—for example, one month for some unsponsored tourist visas and three months for sponsored tourist visas—but the issued visa is controlling.
- Entry and permitted stay are separate from the window in which the visa must first be used.
Photo requirements
The ROP portal accepts separate passport and portrait files. Its FAQ limits each passport/photo file to 512 KB; a mission or sponsor route may add composition or print requirements.

Common refusal or delay risks
- Choosing a subtype for which nationality, residence or profession is not eligible.
- Passport validity below the required threshold.
- Incorrect biographical data, sponsor information or unreadable uploads.
- Photo or passport files above the portal limit or an unsuccessful payment.
After approval
- Generate the visa PDF and check passport number, subtype and dates.
- Carry the approved visa and same passport to a legal border point.
- Observe the actual stay period printed on the visa and do not work on a tourist authorization.
