About Photo Pass

Photo Pass helps people prepare passport, visa, immigration and identity photos without sending the portrait to our servers.

What we provide

Photo Pass combines a browser-based crop and export tool with reviewed country and document presets. The tool can detect a face, suggest framing, prepare exact pixel dimensions and create printable sheets. The portrait and editing workspace remain on the user’s device.

We are an independent service and are not affiliated with, endorsed by or acting on behalf of any government, embassy, consulate or issuing authority.

What we do not promise

Photo requirements can change and the issuing authority makes the final acceptance decision. A technically correct size does not guarantee acceptance when the pose, lighting, expression, recency or application-specific rules are wrong. We link to primary sources so applicants can verify the current requirement before submission.

How requirements are reviewed

Each published preset records its source and review date. We prefer official government, immigration, passport, police or foreign-ministry material. When a regional rule is shared, we label it as shared guidance and still ask users to check the destination authority.

Read the complete editorial and verification policy, or report an error through the corrections process.

Contact

Questions, privacy requests and requirement corrections can be submitted through the contact page. Messages are reviewed through the site’s administrative support queue.

Why browser processing matters

A document portrait is sensitive personal information. Photo Pass was designed so the active image workspace does not depend on a server upload. The browser downloads the face-detection and segmentation models, opens the selected file locally, and creates the export locally. Product analytics record page and workflow events, not the portrait itself.

This architecture also gives the user direct control over the source file and final download. It does not remove the need to protect the device, browser history or downloaded files, which remain under the user’s control.

How the service is funded and improved

The core maker is available without an account or watermark. The application includes optional advertising controls, product analytics and voluntary reviews. Any advertising must remain visually identified and must not change the selected photo requirement or imply government endorsement.

Usage patterns, support messages and corrections help prioritize better sources, clearer instructions, accessibility improvements and new presets. Reviews are never converted into structured ratings unless they are genuine, visible and policy-compliant.
