Saudi Arabia tourist eVisa: eligibility, validity and application guide
Understand the official Saudi tourist eVisa, eligible passports, tourism and Umrah scope, one-year multiple-entry conditions, application steps and the visa photo.
What this visa or program is
Saudi Arabia’s tourist eVisa is an electronic, generally multiple-entry authorization for eligible nationalities. It covers tourism-related activities, family and relative visits, leisure and Umrah outside Hajj rules; it does not authorize work or study.
Eligibility lists and alternative routes can change. If the passport is not accepted by the official eVisa portal, the traveller should use the route identified by the nearest Saudi mission rather than forcing an online application.

This independent guide explains the normal route, not a personal eligibility decision. Immigration rules, fees and appointment procedures can change; check the linked authority and the office handling your application before submitting or paying.

Approved eVisas are sent electronically. Travel on the same passport and keep a copy available.
Timing and fees
- The portal displays the live total; the Ministry may change fees. Payment does not guarantee approval.
- Apply before booking non-refundable travel and allow time for account or verification issues.
Validity and stay conditions
- Official terms state a typical one-year, multiple-entry eVisa with a maximum stay of three months, unless the issued visa says otherwise.
- The eVisa is not extendable under the portal terms and does not guarantee admission.
Photo requirements
The eVisa portal requests a personal photograph. Separate embassy visa categories can impose different print or upload instructions, so this preset is for the tourist route described here.
- Recent colour frontal portrait
- Plain white background
- Face fully visible with even lighting
- For a mission-based application, follow that mission’s current print dimensions
Common refusal or delay risks
- Passport nationality not eligible for the eVisa route or insufficient passport validity.
- False, inaccurate or mismatched application details.
- An impermissible purpose such as employment or study.
- Unclear photo or inability to complete required payment/verification.
After approval
- Check identity and validity and carry a copy on first arrival.
- Use the same passport; biometric details can be collected at entry.
- Respect local laws, purpose restrictions and the maximum stay.
