Editorial and verification policy

Photo Pass publishes a preset only when its core dimensions and rules can be tied to an identifiable authority source.

Source hierarchy

Official passport, immigration, identity, police or foreign-ministry pages and forms.
Official embassy or consulate instructions when the central authority does not publish the detail.
Regional biometric standards only when the destination authority clearly uses that standard.

Commercial photo sites, unsourced summaries and search snippets are not treated as primary evidence.

Review checklist

The editorial team checks physical dimensions, digital dimensions, aspect ratio, background, head placement, format, file-size limits and editing restrictions. The source URL and visible “last verified” date are stored with the preset.

Change control

A verification date should change only after the linked authority material is reviewed. A deployment or design change alone is not a content review. If a requirement cannot be confirmed, it should remain custom-only, be removed from the sitemap or be marked non-indexable until evidence is available.

Corrections

Material errors are prioritized by application risk. We compare the report with the authority source, correct the preset and explanatory text, and update the verification date. Submit evidence through Report a correction.

Reviewer accountability

Pages are attributed to the Photo Pass editorial team rather than an invented individual expert. When a qualified external reviewer is genuinely engaged, their name, role and applicable credentials may be shown.
