Common causes include an old or altered portrait, an incorrect expression, closed or obscured eyes, uneven lighting, a visible shadow, low resolution, an unapproved background or a crop that does not match the required head position. Application channels can also impose a different file limit or capture process.
What is specific to this pr card?
Canadian authorities commonly specify the visible chin-to-crown measurement as well as the outer photo size. Printed applications can involve studio, photographer or reverse-side requirements that a digital crop cannot reproduce, so review the linked IRCC or passport instructions for the chosen submission route.
Permanent resident cards are identity documents with their own photo rules. Check the card authority’s recency and print requirements and retain the original, because altered backgrounds or a passport-sized substitute can be rejected even when the outer dimensions match.
